-- SP daily gas extraction capacity to exceed 730mcm: POGC
The chief executive of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) said Iran’s gas production capacity in the South Pars Gas Field will surpass 730 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) in the winter of the next Iranian year (to start March 20, 2024).
Mohammad Hossein Motejalli said that a 30 mcm/d increase in winter output of the world’s largest joint gas field has been planned through putting several wells of Phase 11 and platform 13A as well as a new pipeline of Phase 16 into operation
-- WSA: Iran’s eight-month steel ingot output near 20m tons
Iranian steelmakers churned out 19.7 million tons of crude steel in the first eight months of 2023, according to statistics released by the World Steel Association (WSA) on Monday, indicating that the country stands at tenth place among steel producing countries.
Steel mills of the country kept the rising trend for the eight-month period despite a major drop in production during the summer due to problems in electricity supply. The country’s steel ingot production for August 2023 registered a 24.1-percent shrinkage compared to the figure for August 2022.

--IRGC Navy Develops Water Landing Drone Capable of Carrying Bombs, Missiles
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy experts have developed unmanned aerial vehicles capable of landing on water and carrying missiles and bombs, according to the commander.
Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said on Sunday that the combat drones are also capable of taking off from water. “The IRGC Navy has also produced hybrid drones that have two separate engines for launch and propulsion,” he added.
-- Iran Produces 268,000 Tons of Aluminum Ingots
The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) in its latest report announced that the country produced about 268,000 tons of aluminum ingot in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023).
The country’s four major producers of aluminum ingot produced 267,983 tons of aluminum ingot from March 21 to August 22, 2023 the report added.

Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Muhammad-Mehdi Esmaili says that cooperation with the Islamic World is a priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Esmaili made the remarks in a meeting with Salim bin Mohammed Almalik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

-- 17th Cinéma Vérité receives over 2,400 submissions
-A total of 2,454 documentaries from around the world have been submitted to the 17th Iran International Documentary Film Festival Cinéma Vérité, due to be held in December in Tehran.
From among the total submissions, 615 works are from Iran and 1,839 foreign documentaries have also been received.
-- Moderate to severe drought recorded in past 3 years
According to the data released by the Meteorological Organization, most parts of the country were affected by moderate to severe drought over the past three crop years. Only some provinces did experience normal precipitation.
The crop year, from September 23, 2022, to September 22, 2023, recorded a cumulative rainfall of 188.8 mm, a 6.2 percent increase compared to 177.7 mm in its preceding year. However, in comparison to 236.1 mm long-term rainfall, the figure shows a 20.1 percent decrease.
-- Iran approves unrestricted SIM cards for foreign tourists
Iran has approved a proposal to provide special SIM cards to foreign visitors, a move that eliminates its Internet restrictions aimed at boosting tourism.
Under the plan, unrestricted SIM cards will be provided to international tourists visiting the Islamic Republic, the deputy tourism minister Ali-Asghar Shalbafian said.
